How do you deal with the stress of Yr 13

I'm currently in year 13 and it's so stressful. I'm worried I won't get into the unis I want, I'm doing 4 subjects (as further maths) and I'm trying to get a job. How do so many people seem to have it together. How do people manage to study and understand new content, revise old content, see friends, work out, have a job and still get good grades. We're not even at Christmas and I feel myself unraveling, so how do you stay motivated and stay on top of everything?

I think the keyword is that people seem to have it together. Very few people actually have it together. A teacher in my sixth form, whom I hold in high regard and had a doctorate under his belt, told the class once that year 13 is the hardest academic year you'll ever do, that it gets easier there onwards at uni. I'm in my final year of uni and so far, I think he's right. It was a super busy and stressful year for me, but you just have to do your best. Time management works very well - plan your days, what you'll do each day and for how long, and stick to the plan. Reach out to your friends and talk about stress. You're all in it together, and realising this and supporting one another will help a lot. Also important to de-stress. Whenever me and my friends had a study period together, we largely didn't do any work and just talked and had fun, and it was a nice way to relax and stop being so gloomy about things.

You got this!

Don’t make comparison to others ( much easier said than done because I have been in your shoes both as a student and as a nurse trying strive do my best). You’re doing brilliantly with your choice subjects. Everything will fall into place… bite size chunks and reward yourself just a little every day. Positive affirmations you got this! Life is rollercoaster but your perspective and resilience will build every day, preparing you in long run should you do university
