Will Student Finance cover my fourth year

I am currently in my 3rd year studying History and I want to switch to a 4th year integrated master course at the same university. However, 4 years ago I initially studied classics and switched to history. Would student finance cover my 4th year as I have already used up one of the extra years you get?

Hi there,

Can you please tell us when you'll start the Integrated Masters year, will this be next September or thereabouts?

Thanks, Graeme

Will you have gained the qualification from your 3 year course before you transfer to the integrated masters? Just to confirm you have had 1 year of previous study on another course (before the 3 year degree course)? Thanks.

For the first question, the answer is no. For the second, the answer is yes

Hi there,

Can you confirm what university you attend and the full name of the old course and the new course?

Thanks, Drew

Thanks, yes - this all sounds fine.

When you transfer to the Integrated Masters year this changes how we calculate your previous study, so you should be entitled to funding for that year.

We'd recommend asking your university to send us a Change of Circumstances (COC) confirming this is what you're doing and we'll then update your application.

Thanks, Graeme
