Moving out for sixth form?

Is it normal to move out for sixth form? There are a few decent (some might even say great) sixth forms around, but the results are the only parts of the schools that are actually good, the other aspects of the schools are sort of neglected.

One school I'm considering, for example, is more like a sixth form was added as an extension of the existing secondary school, so sixth formers only really get a single study/canteen hall to themselves. I go to this secondary school, and my maths teacher hinted at me leaving the school 😭. The other schools are more or less an hour away from where I live.

However, there is one school I've seen online which seems like the most enjoyable, perfect school for me (as in I would actually like going to school if I went to somewhere like that). It is 3-ish hours away by train though, so I wouldn't be able to go unless I moved, but it specialises in my favourite subjects (mathsy), has a variety of clubs I'd love like astronomy, robotics, and music, has an extended, uni-like? curriculum, and has a great wellbeing focus, with weekly recreational activities and exercise time.

I just think some other opinions would be nice to have, because I can't tell if my delusion of finally finding an enjoyable school is clouding my better judgement of the financial and social costs of moving out.. :frown:(

King College London Maths School (KCLMS), I'm really interested in maths and astrodynamics (I want to take Maths, FM, Physics, Comp Sci), and I think it was rated like best school in the UK or something
