Hi, for chemistry I would recommend the YouTuber Allery Chemistry or MaChemGuy to help you understand the content! And do some questions on PMT/ Seneca. Also don’t worry first assessment can be really new and hard especially since you haven’t developed full study strategies yet.

Hi! Please don’t stress if you do badly now, on my first chemistry test I got worst in the class and cried, but I ended up getting an A* in the end. For me, flashcards, practice questions (eg from pmt or chemsheets) and allery chemistry videos really helped.

Hi @kujih πŸ‘‹

I also took A level chemistry and I'm now studying Biochemistry at the University of Essex

Chemistry can be difficult at the beginning but I have a few tips to hopefully make it easier!

Firstly, I would make flashcards the day of the lesson as that way when you come to revising they are already there and you don't need to make resources when you should be revising the content πŸ˜€

If your not a flashcards person then I'd also recommend, whatever topic your revising just get an A4 piece of paper and write down everything you can remember from memory about that topic. Then afterwards look at your notes and see what you missed. This is really great as you can focus on what you don't know rather than going over stuff that is already in your head!

Then lastly, practise questions are really helpful especially when figuring out what the mark scheme wants. Many questions are repeated just maybe worded differently so if you already know the bullet points from the mark scheme answering other questions will become much easier 😊

Hope this helps and if you have any more questions I'm happy to help!

i mean dont worry about it man, i am in year 13 now and my first chemistry test i got like a C or a D but now i got A in my mocks and i am predicted a A* its ok its the first tests the nerves are there and you have just been hit with a lot off new content and a lot of new stuff looking back at it, it was very hard back them i remember learning about orbitals and like 1s 2s stuff i wanted to cry during the lesson because i understood none of it but now i look at it that was like the easiest thing in the world you will look back in like 6 months time and realise how easy these things really where and my best advice is after you come home after each chemistry lesson especially if you found it hard go over the content again look at your notes, watch some YouTube videos if you really didn't understand and then do exam questions, i can't stress this enough a level chemistry i do AQA too exam questions will be your best friend they are so good for revision literally if you learn the questions they can ask you and the mark schemes are pretty much the same for most questions if you learn the common questions and then once you have covered enough content it is all about the exam papers they are so important to revise. hope this help anything else feel free to ask !

ones chemistry clicks its like maths you will remember the content beacuse every topic links back to topics you did like every time so your basically constantly revising the stuff form the start of the year and you remember it you just have to do past paper questions
