2026 law personal statement

Hi all! I am a mature student intending on applying to law, I have been out of education for quiteeee some time and now am utterly baffled by the new ps format. I am doing these applications on my own (no tutor/teacher to tell me if my ps is any good or not/what to change). I was wondering if anyone who has already applied this year would be willing to send over their ps so I could get a vibe; I obviously can't copy or anything as they have strong detectors for plagiarism etc! - It would just be so that I have a somewhat idea of the types of things everyones writing/how to structure it correctly. Thank you so much in advance xx

Hey @anonymed186

I'd recommend downloading our free personal statement guide - it has an example Law application in the new format!
It's annotated with notes to say what's good about the statement, so you can use it for inspiration

Unfortunately, people wouldn't be able to post their personal statement here, as once the personal statement is online, theirs could be flagged for plagiarism.

We also have some advice for mature students here who might have been out of education for a while and need some guidance writing about their work experience.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you need any further help and I'd be happy to!

From the perspective of someone returning to education I'd suggest the following prompts...

Q1:
What is motivating you to do this course?
Why have you got to this point and why now?

Q2:
What have you been reading / watching / listening that has furthered your interest in this course?
Analyse and reflect on these - what has been helpful, what was limiting about them?

Q3:
What else have you been doing in life?
Why might that background be useful? (do not just talk about generic soft skills)
