open university to degree apprenticeship?

as it says on the tin.

i don’t have good a level results at all, but if i finished 1/2 years at the open university, and provided i had some good work experience, can i make the transition to a degree apprenticeship? if so how? i can’t find much information on this!!

for context i’m doing maths and physics and would want to make a pivot to mechanical engineering. i’ve done a mechanical engineering internship and also have some AutoCAD experience and am working towards certification

i didn’t know whether to put this in open university or apprenticeships thread, so feel free to move the post!

I think you might get responses on the apprenticeships board.

Hey!

I don't know specifically about the Open University, but lots of universities will let you switch onto a placement year or year abroad (or similar) after your first year if your grades meet their requirements! I would advise you to get in touch with their admissions or degree apprenticeships teams to see what their policy is, but I would imagine that it would be possible for you to do that!

I hope this is helpful!
