Newcastle 2026 Dentistry applicants

Hello, anyone else applied to Newcastle uni for dentistry?
I have and also now looking at the Partners application, which has left me a bit confused.
I thought I could just submit the application and they would contact my school referee directly as they have that info on UCAS.
But looks like I have to fill in yet another form first to tell them who I want to be my referee and I assume they will then contact that person.
So I now can't submit the actual application form until they have done this.
But their deadline is next Wednesday and they say it will take up to 5 days to sort out the referee. So I may not be able to submit the application until after the deadline!
Is that correct? Or am I being stupid and missing something here?
Please help!!!

Phone up admissions and ask them tomorrow.
They were one of the few Uni's which when I phoned up the person on the phone actually seemed to know what they were talking about straight away and were super friendly and helpful. Hope you get it sorted.

Yeah you're right, I'll do that tomorrow.
Think I'm getting in a tizzy and over thinking everything at the moment. Stress is getting to me 😩

I know the feeling - just read the Leeds review on other thread and now gutted didn't put Leeds down! Wish they had replied 2 days sooner and that would have swayed me as like the sound of more chilled vibe! Though still would have got to 1.get an interview and 2.an offer.

Don’t worry about Leeds now. I’m sure Newcastle will be equally chilled. If not, it’ll be chilly at least 😂

The deadline is for application only , not for the referee. They will contact referee later if necessary.

So yeah, I have sent in my application form now by the deadline. Let’s wait and see now.
Have you also applied for Partners?

My understanding is that you receive the reduced offer on the condition that you'll attend the summer school. So if you don't attend it, then that reduced offer is cancelled.

Hi I just thought I'd share this with everyone in the thread as it seems really useful!
Final call for anyone applying to dental school!!
A group of Newcastle BDS students are running a dentistry interview masterclass weekly, the next of which is on Sunday 09/11 (11:00-17:30)!
It’s a full-day interactive crash course designed to help you feel confident and ready for both MMI and panel interviews.
Here’s what they’ll be covering:
Motivation and personality questions
Communication, empathy and role-play practice
Ethical scenarios and decision-making
NHS hot topics, GDC principles and the 4 pillars
Teamwork, reflection and professionalism
Mock MMI and panel-style practice with live feedback
If you’re unsure where to start or really want to build a strong foundation with help from students who’ve supported countless successful applicants, this is a great opportunity. Here’s the link if you want to check it out!
MedDentAcademy: Dentistry Interview Masterclass Tickets, Sun, Nov 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM | Eventbrite
Will this be repeated or will there be further courses. Are there any in person events? From Newcastle so it’s top choice!

Anyone had any interview invites from Newcastle yet?
Heard some might have gone out but think I'm gonna be pretty far down the list.
Seems they just keep everyone hanging until they work through the interviews, right? So assuming they start with highest scoring applicants first and work their way down until all offer spaces full?

Hiya. It was mentioned on another forum in passing but no stats were given, so was just wondering if true? However just looked through last years thread on here and they didn't get invites until 17th Jan and seemed to be all on same day and then rejections on the 19th. So maybe its that format so not like the Bristol put you on hold and wait thing. So don't panic I didn't mean to worry anyone, I might have misunderstood it!!! But that is a long wait.

Yeah I thought Newcastle tend to interview quite late so was really not expecting to hear anything until Jan or even Feb tbh. That’s good if they send everything in ne day.

Yep, maybe it was med instead of dentistry - the interviews already gone out for Newcastle?
