Royal Holloway - LGBTQ Making friends

I am thinking of applying to Royal Holloway next year for geography, but I am wondering what the uni is like for lgbtq people. Is there a lot of lgbtq people and what is the nightlife like compared to a city? I am quite an extroverted person so I plan on trying to make friends, but I am just wondering what the social life is like, and what the population of lgbtq students is like.

Hi there,

Thanks for your question. We have a diverse mix of students studying at Royal Holloway, but I would recommend getting in touch with our LBGT+ Society (run by students) to find out more about this, including events and opportunities to meet other LGBT+ folk on campus. You can find out more about the society here: https://www.su.rhul.ac.uk/societies/a-z/lgbt/

You also may like to reach out to some of our current students to find out more about social events and nightlife Royal Holloway has to offer. They can provide a personal, direct insight into this which you may find useful: https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/chat/

Best wishes,
Royal Holloway, University of London

Ive applied to RH for Law with Politics! I went to an open day it’s breathtaking! I’m sure you’ll meet people you vibe with whether they are lgbtq or not!!
(May be stereotyping here but RH seems like a lot of gay people would go there simply due to the architecture (creativity) and yes i am too a member of lgbtq ✊)
