please give me some hope

hi guys,

is it possible to go from a D to an A/A* in physics and further maths in 6 months? i am resitting due to an injury in year 13 that affected my health and i ended up missing a lot of it but still decided to sit my exams that year. i got a B in maths that i’m also resitting and i had 8/9s at GCSE so if i crank down on the content, can i resit to get 3As/A*s in my resits?

i feel hopeless already and i haven’t started yet, i keep hearing that people’s grades don’t usually change when they resit. i’d appreciate any hope and advice  i’m going to start tomorrow but i just keep crying from how hopeless i feel. i was predicted 3A*s and had a UCL offer last year..

i know that at the end of the day, anything is possible, it’s just the fact that i’m all alone doing this and don’t see many others in this position who actually end up having a good outcome. if i dedicate 4-5 hours a day will i be okay?

i’m more worried about the 6 months (so the time) than i am learning the actual content. i feel like i don’t have time

I imagine you can do it, and I wish you all the best, but I will say that it’s not very easy maintaining an A* for a year, never mind moving up to it. Don’t feel hopeless though, if you use good resources and revise effectively, you’ll certainly jump up some grades. 4-5 hours daily is more than enough extra work to do I think, but you need to be sustainable and not burn out.

Really, best of luck and have some hope, you must’ve been doing something right before to have those GCSEs and predicted grades - you clearly have the capability.

i’m going to try my best, there are people who do 5 alevels or intensive alevel fast tracks so i’m just going to believe i can  hopefully the A/ A* does happen and it’s disappointing to me that at most i’ll probably only jump up a few grades after having such stellar grades

What makes it better than TL Maths, in your opinion?

The multitude of examples, the 'full coverage' questions, UKMT papers, the board specifc content, the enrichment resources, ..... it has far more.

What are the 'full coverage' questions and where can we find them?

They are questions on every topic - they are on Dr Frost. You'll need to register, it's free.
