A Level Options

Im currently in year 11, and my school wants us to submit an initial plan of which A Levels we want to do
at my school, you have to get an attainment 8 of 66 to do 4 alevels (I got 62 in my y10 mocks so I feel like this is attainable)
i want to go into medicine, and im also really passionate about bio and chem - they're my favourite subjects, so i 100% want to do those

For my other 2 options, I want to do maths and a social science (either socio or psych) and im leaning towards socio because my schools psych department is ATROCIOUS and I dont want to end up teaching myself all the content

My question is, has anyone done bio, chem, socio and maths? if you have or yk some1 who has, how is it?

Thank you!

Maths bio chem is quite standard for med. Socio is fine I guess although that's more like human science

Hi, I'm a year 13 student doing biology, chemistry and maths. None of them are bad subjects. I really like chemistry, and maths is good too but it can be a big jump from year 11 so be warned. Biology is interesting, but quite content heavy, although in terms of difficulty, its probably the easiest one because it is all up to memorisation. I would say its great to consider psychology or sociology. I think sociology may be a cooler option just because you said your school's psych department is terrible and also ive just heard from others that sociology is a really eye-opening subject. Some of my freidns do psychology, and some parts are very interesting but ive heard that things like 'research methods' can be extremely boring. Let me know if you have any more questions, Im happy to help!

i'm only a term into y12, and im not into stem lol, but sociology is such a good subject so far, i genuinely cant recommend it more. however psychology is just pure torture, and my departments good as well lmao. anyways one of my friends want to go into medicine and she's currently doing bio, chem, maths and she loves maths + bio. chem she says is horrible but for med you havent rlly got a choice. personally i have no experience in any of those, but according to another aspiring med student those subjects are pretty good.
