Mantainance loan doubt

Hello,
I am on my 4th year of study and I got my EU settled status in July, so I am now eligible for the maintenance loan too. I sent the PN1 form to request it and the student finance got back to my asking for the addresses where I lived the past 3 years.
I have been living in the UK since January 2020, but I spent 1 year abroad as part of my university degree (2024-2025). My question is: since I have been asked for the history address of the past 3 years( Sept 2022-Sept2025), the fact that I spent 1 years abroad because of my UK studies could compromise my eligibility for the maintenance loan?

Thank you in advance for your answer

Hi there,

If it was an integral part of your course and you can provide evidence that it was temporary break in in your residency you should be okay. When did you submit your PN1 form and what nationality are you? When did you submit the PN1 form?

Thanks, Drew

Hello, I submitted my form a couple of weeks ago.
How can I demonstrate that it was part of my degree? Also, my official residency continued here in England.

I have been asked to write a paper with all of my addressed of the past 3 years, so I can I prove that the year abroad is part of my degree?? You might already know because I had a reduced student loan for the past academic year.

I am Italian

Thank you!

Hi there,

We should be able to see that your course had a placement year and this should not affect your eligibility. Have you been asked to send us your written address history? Could your university provide any evidence to advise you were abroad for your course?

Thanks, Drew

Morning,

Yes, I have been ask to send a written letter stating my address history for the past 3 years. I do have agreement made between my host university and my official one here in London. In addition, I have an invitation letter sent by the host university where my placement took place. Would this be enough as proof?
Shall I send it altogether with the address history?

Regards,
Michela.

Hi Michela,

Yes you can send it by post if you want but if you can upload it from your online account it would be quicker.
