Cheap days out in London

I have a few suggestions of really great free days out in London and some others that a could cost a little but are still cheap. I will divide these into neighbourhoods, so it is easier to plan day out in one specific area or London. For free days out, a lot of it includes art galleries or lovely green spaces.

Kensington - (FREE DAY)

Kyoto gardens

Leighton house

Design museum

Kensington is a lovely day out and these places are some of my favourites to visit in London. The design museum is a great place to visit and it’s right near Kyoto gardens if you wanted to visit both in the same day. They’re walking distance from each other so no need to pay for more transport than necessary. The design museum is free to visit but if you wanted to treat yourself, they also have other paid exhibitions on such as the Tim Burton exhibition that just ended, and another exciting one opening soon is the Wes Anderson exhibition.

Waterloo- (FREE DAY)

Leake street Arches

This place is lovely to walk through and hang out around if you enjoy the graffiti art world. It’s free to view but there are bars and great places to eat if you wanted to.

City of London (FREE DAY)

St Dunstan in the east church

Sky Garden

The garden at 120

Leadenhall Market

These are mainly cool green spaces to visit in the city, they’re all free to visit of course but I added Leadenhall Market in case you do want a food recommendation or just to browse.

Holborn

Inner temple gardens

Two temple palace (Neo gothic Victorian mansion)

The old Bank of England (pub)

Sir John Soanes Museum (free)

These places are all free or cheap, I included the pub location which isn’t necessarily cheap but it’s a really cool pub to see and you could simply just sit in there with a drink for a bit if you wanted to.

Covent Garden

Cecil court- cute street of Victorian bookshops

Neal’s Yard- independent market, shops and restaurants bright pretty buildings

the butterfly trail

This is my favourite day out to do in London, and I always take people here when they visit. You don’t have to spend money at any of these shops, I usually don’t it’s just lovely to walk around these neighbourhoods and look in the antique shops and beautiful book shops.

Has anyone else had a really fun and cheap day out in London and where did you go?
