Was there any attempt from your side to consult someone within the university, and understand the curriculum and academic workload? My university is notorious for grade deflation and a stressful academic environment, but some way or another I, and many others, find a way through it. Having late study nights with your peers then enjoying the downtime is what I would call an essential part of uni life, and is what secondary school and sixth form have prepared you for.
There are many others just like you, and I'm sure some are on here, but a common path is to recuperate your thoughts, take a gap year, and truly find what you want to pursue. What excites you? It may not even require a university degree. Seek out training programs, experience different things, or even enter the workforce just to see different options.
If you are easily homesick, my advice would be to choose an academic institution close to your home so you can easily commute back and forth.
And most importantly of all, speak to someone. While online forums may have the odd nugget of useful advice here and there, no one understands your situation more than the people around you who have been with you all the way up until now.
