Funding when failed studies due to disability

Hi,
In April 2021 I started an adult nursing degree. I had to retake my first year and was given a gift year. I then had to resit one module from year one again but had funding for year 2.
As of May this year myself and my tutors agreed that I would be better suited in a less physical job so In Sept 2025 I started social work.
I’m now being told there is no funding available for me. Can I appeal this? The reason I couldn’t complete my nursing was because I was unwell with my disability. I do now have a letter from my consultant stating that my condition is controlled and he now feels I would complete a 3 year degree.
Would this give me grounds for appeal? Because I was at a disadvantage of my disability?

Hi there,

Did you start your social work course in the 2025/26 academic year? Do you have 3 years of previous study? How many years does your social work course last and have we said you are not eligible for any funding?

Thanks, Drew
