Helppp

Hey, I’m currently doing my A Levels. A few days ago, my teacher mentioned that medical admissions are based on both O Level and A Level results. I honestly didn’t know that I always thought only A Level results mattered. It’s not that I did poorly in O Levels deliberately; my teachers just weren’t there for me. I’m not blaming them because I couldn’t understand their teaching style I actually told my parents about it earlier, but they didn’t listen, since one of my relatives was a teacher there.

Even when I told him that I couldn’t understand the lessons, he went and told my parents that I was being rude and influenced by my friends, which wasn’t true. My O Level years were really traumatic for me. On top of that, my family was struggling financially, so my parents were very easily influenced.

Thankfully, I’m not in that environment anymore. I really want to pursue orthodontics. Can anyone tell me if I’m eligible to sit for the medical admission test? And if I work hard and get 3 A’s in A Level, will it still be a problem?

Here are my O Level results:

Chemistry Four

Physics Five

Biology Five

Bangla Eight

English Three

Accounting Six

Maths B Three

The factors that unis take into account vary - there are plenty that do not take GCSE's / O levels into account. Most use mainly the UCAT to rank. Just work hard, take the UCAT and then apply to those that favour your stats. There is a forum on here called 'which medical school' which will help but no use asking until you have your UCAT test score (google it)

Basically, I am from Bangladesh, and due to some financial issues, I can’t move out. Can you clear my confusion does a 5 in O Level mean a B? And the GPA should be 4? So A is 5, right?”

Are you asking about med/orthodontics admissions in the UK or Bangladesh?
