Did O Levels and GCSEs before the *'s appeared

Filling in an application form and putting in my O Levels and GCSE (couple of resits that took place after the swap) - on the grades for both of them it lists A* as an option - it wasn't a grade back then. Will universities actually look at the results and think I didn't do as great as none of my results were A*?

University admissions staff know how the qualifications worked and when the A* grade was introduced. It's just an issue with how they set up the UCAS forms evidently.
