LSE 2025/26 Politics and International Relations Applicants

Hi guys! I don't really see much about on here from what I can find (from the numbers it seems quite popular). I applied on the 15th. What grades did you guys apply with and how do you think you personal statements are?

Well end of October last year .... I applied to 5 of the Top Tier Unis for this course, predicted (and achieved) 44 points, all 8's and 9's at GCSE, what I thought was a very good PS and relevant internships and experiences, got rejected literally DAYS before the deadline for Uni's to respond.

Got offers from my other 4, 2 were very quick back in and 2 took a few months.... then waited and waited for LSE, watched loads of people get rejected for it, then people get offers, then waited some more and got rejected just before cut off.

It stung, however I am really happy where I am now, I am a very active and social person and I see my friends at LSE and there is no way I would have settled and made such a wide and fun friendship group in this short time at LSE.

Am also very sporty as is one of my friends at LSE... he is finding the lack of sportiness difficult.

But each to their own, LSE is perfect for some people!

hey, I'm thinking of applying, not sure whether for politics and IR or politics with history, or IR and history 😅 (im indecisive if u cant tell)
I got 9999999988 at GCSE and A*A*A in RS, Spanish and History A level. what about you??

My PS still needs some tweaking as I was orginally applying for law.

Hi, of those Pol+IR seems to be very competitive and history+IR seems pretty easy compared to that. I think with a good PS you can definitely get into Politics and history or IR and History with your grades! Politics and IR is definitely a crapshoot though even for people with perfect grades tbh because of that offer rate 😓 As for grades, I have a 45/45 IB predicted with English, Politics, Econ HL! I have okay supercurriculars, nothing like interning for a political candidate or anything loll

Yeah, it's so tough because 30:1 offer rate doesn't fill you with much hope!! I'm also thinking of applying for Politics and Philosophy which seems more attainable perhaps.

What are u looking to apply for??
