how does kcl med shortlist?

ive got 2120 b2 with all a*s at gcse so ik its very very risky as its likely im borderline or even below the usual cutoff score with combined ucat sjt and gcses. im also a young carer so thats my extenuating circumstances, im not contextual in any other factors though. ive submitted my young caring stuff to the kcl form but im just wondering, how would they use it?? would it help me to get shortlisted if im just below the interview cutoff score??

they have this young caring page up on the website but their 'young adult carer' definition is pretty specific and the person im caring for doesn't fit their exact definition. i emailed kcl and they said i wouldnt count as a young adult carer under their terms but they recommended that i still submit my young caring responsibilties in their mitigating circumstances form.

anyone have any knowledge of how and if they use the mitigating circumstances form to help decide who to shortlist for interview??
