This will likely sound extremely silly but I have major anxiety of minute things like this - what bins do we use for emptying our room bins? i have no clue where we’re actually supposed to take our rubbish to

Don’t worry, it’s not a silly question at all; lots of people aren’t sure 😊
For your room bins, just empty them into the big bins in your hall’s kitchen or just outside the building. For kitchen/communal bins, the same applies: there are usually separate bins for general waste, recycling (paper, plastics, cans), and sometimes food/compost, so check the labels on the bins.
If your hall doesn’t have big bins right outside, luckily Jubilee Campus buildings are nearby and they normally have massive bins just out front, which is usually no more than a minute’s walk away. And if you’re ever unsure, your hall staff can point you in the right direction!

The bins for Newark hall are located at the rear of the building, at the end of the car park near the red building.
