Should I change Nottingham to something else?

I’m applying for chemical engineering and my options are: Manchester, camb, ucl, bath and Nottingham. After a while I didn’t think it made sense for Nottingham to be there.
What should I change it to?

The usual advice for your 5 choices is :

1 just above your predicted grades - one grade and not in a vital subject.

3 at your predicted grades - these are your most likely offers.

1 below your predicted grades as your potential Insurance choice.

For any STEM degree, a course with a work placement or study abroad adds heaps to your graduate CV. And remember - there is nothing special about RG Unis, its just marketing fluff.

(Why are you doubting Nottingham as a choice?)

Hi @aaabiruns

Those are some great choices!

Firstly, what makes you think Nottingham is the wrong choice? Once you identify this, you can figure out what you are NOT looking for in a uni.

Telling you what to change it to is quite difficult, as everyone has different factors they prioritise. Some may include: cost of living, course reputation, placement year, modules taught, distance, campus or city, and more! Since you have already chose four unis, this should be easier as you can think what makes them unis the RIGHT choice.

If you can, attend some open days, email tutors and do your research as you still have plenty of time before applying. Remember, applying early offers no benefit so don't feel pressured!

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
