SFE funding an abroad programme.
I want to start study in September 2026 in Greece. It is a UK accredited course and at the end of the degree my certificate will say it’s by the university of Derby and I read somewhere that SFE will not fund as it’s not in the UK but the course is literally by a UK university. Would I be able to get a loan if I was estranged from my parents or is this just 100% a no? Just seems ridiculous to not be able to get a loan when I will pay it back anyway

Hello,
Unfortunately as far as my knowledge goes you don’t get sfe funding for degrees that are outside the UK, but it’s worth giving them a ring and double checking (0300 100 0607).

Can you confirm the full name of the course and the duration of the course. I will check the database we hold with the university of Derby to see if it is there.
