MMU Criminology

Hi!! I was wondering if a current or past student could please tell me a bit about the course and how you’re finding it. Like how it is assessed, how much time is spent in Uni vs work outside! I’m hoping to join Sept 2026

Hi,

Students on our BSc (Hons) Criminology gain an up-to-date appreciation of the criminal justice process and key agencies operating within it, including the police, courts and prisons. The assessment is 100% coursework, there are no exams. Coursework can include essays, presentations, portfolio, case-studies, and in Year 3 your dissertation There is also an optional placement/study abroad year which you can decide on at the beginning of your second year.

If you're able to it would be worthwhile attending our Undergraduate Open Day on 22nd November as you will be able to speak to the criminology academics as well as current students, attend a subject talk, tour the campus and visit the Student Life Fair where you can chat with the accommodation team, finance, admissions, placement team, student support services etc.

If you have any questions about the course or your eligibility, you are welcome to contact our Course Enquiries team on 0161 247 6969 or [email protected].

Hope this helps,
Mel 😊
