Second healthcare degree funding

Hi! I would like to check my eligibility for a student loan.
I currently have a BSc in Psychology and am in my second year of BSc Physiotherapy. I was able to get student funding for both as Psychology was my first degree and the BSc in Physiotherapy is one of the exception courses for student finance.

I would like to swap courses from BSc Physiotherapy to MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-reg) - am I still eligible for student finance for the new course? I have not fully completed the Physiotherapy course and the MSc in Occupational Therapy seems to be on the exception list too.

Thanks for your help!

Hi there,

Yes, that's right - because Occupational Therapy is an exception course you'll be entitled to funding regardless of your previous study: this applies if you switch from Physiotherapy to MSc Occupational Therapy, as you plan to.

Thanks, Graeme
