How hard is higher history ?
Hi all,
This year for my higher’s I’m taking Biology,English and Music.Right now I’m doing great in my essays as I’m consistently scoring nothing below 17.But I am struggling with paper 2 but I hope with more practice I can get the hang of it.If anyone has any advice or an idea how hard it was with other subjects all help and experience would be greatly appreciated.Thank you !

Hi I did H History last year and got an A1. i found using Understanding Standards, Mr Marr to be quite helpful. Hardest thing for me was memorising all the essays and getting the hang of some of the source questions

As someone doing Higher History this year, I agree with the advice above. Paper 2 is known to be harder to score marks in as you can't just memorise your answers, however you can memorise how to form an answer (once you've learnt how to do that). I feel like taking on feedback from your teacher (provided it's good), and using Mr Marr and understanding standards is the best way to learn it if you're struggling.
