ID at Glasgow Uni QMU

It’s just to check if Young Scot cards can be used as a valid form of ID to get into the union I’m aware that sometimes places can be weird about serving drink to people who only have Young Scot cards but in terms of getting into the union for events and such will a Young Scot card do? Are you generally ID’d before going in? Still don’t really know how everything works yet.

Hiya (:

Ive been to a few concerts at QMU and at the doors been asked for id to get wristbands for anyone 18+ for the bar, a few of my friends have used young scot cards before and got wristbands but would generally bring a different form of id just incase😊 - maybe also have a check on the unis website to see if they mention anything about types of id they accept?

hope this helps a bit (:

Hi there,

Both our student union's will generally ask for your Glasgow Uni student ID upon entry. During freshers week they will also usually accept a valid drivers license or similar, but I would personally recommend having an alternate form of ID to your YoungScot card. The majority of the time as I said you would be asked for your student ID though.

All the best,
Elise, Student Rep
