As an international student myself who has taken a gap year, I don't think it affects your application at all. In fact taking a gap year may give you more time and space to think and figure things out before applying.
Are there any specific goals you have planned for your year out? Do you intend to get a some work experience during your gap year?
The only disadvantage is the annual inflation of tuitions fees which applies to international fees. However, if you are gaining a Home fee status, this would not apply to you 🤗.
