Urgent for medicine ucas application

Ticked yes to declare criminal conviction on medical ucas application by mistake , anyone has an experience around this . I know i need to email universities , but some saying that this is lowering my chances of invitations and acceptance .
This happens all the time and has been ongoing for years. Unis are well used to people incorrectly ticking yes so will likely be expecting an apologetic correction from anyone that does this.

I did the same thing by mistake and honestly, don’t stress too much. I emailed the unis and they said it’s actually a pretty common error and doesn’t affect their decision at all. Just let them know it was a genuine mistake and they’ll make a note on your file

Hi, did you mean this question? 'Please tick if you have any spent or unspent criminal convictions or other punishments that would show up on a criminal records check.' I just wanted to check that if you have no convictions, you just dont tick the box and it will then show on your university choices box as
Criminal convictions declaration
Undeclared
Is this correct?

It is but they’ve already ticked yes to declare and submitted the application, hence the guidance above.
