hey guys
so I'm doing an assignment which is due thursday and i've written it all and decided to put it into different ai checkers and some said 53% while others said 84% but I didn't used ai as my main thing, like I only used to chatgpt to help me start it since I was really really stuck on how to do it so what do I do now cause I'm panicking and I don't wanna rewrite my whole assignment!!

It depends if your school checks if AI was used and if you've consistently written at that level before. If not, change some words and phrases

the only thing is this is my first ever assignment cause im in year 1 of uni so im just a bit worried 😭😭😭

Why are you using an AI checker.
Surely you know if you have used AI or not.

And btw, some of these sites are very dodgy and are there only to resell essays.

Hey!! Don't worry 💛 too much as those AI checker can really be inconsistent and sometimes flag things even when you've written them yourself. Their not always accurate, so try not to panic.

As long as the work is in your own words and shows your understanding, you'll be fine. Go through and make sure the phrasing sounds like how you'd actually say it, and back up each point with your lecture slides/notes you've made. Use readings or other reliable sources online 📚 and make sure to add those to your bibliography so it's clear where your evidence comes from.

It's totally fine that you used ChatGPT or other tools to help you get started or structure your ideas, that's part of the learning process! Just make sure the final version shows your thinking, supported by academic sources. You've already done the hard part by writing it yourself. You've got this! 📝✨

Hi there,

The best thing you can do in these circumstances is paraphrasing. However, in future it would be wise to abstain from using AI for writing assignments. Essentially, you might either get caught or end up doing twice as much work by rewriting the assignment. The worst part of it is that you may actually not learn anything, and learning something should be the end goal of studying.

I would echo what McGinger has said. There was no need to put anything through an AI checker if you didn't use it. So in future, don't run your essays through an AI checker. If you are just concerned of accidentally being accused of using AI or plagiarism, you should keep all the drafts of your assignment so in the extremely unlikely scenario that you get unjustly accused of using AI, you have something that will let you show how your assignment evolved. Google Documents is quite good for that because it automatically keeps a log of every change to the document which you can then go back and check.
