I don't understand what you mean by "what custom would I need" but those GCSE grades are adequate for a success UCL application as long as they include English Language and Mathematics at grade 6. Your A level predictions/achieved grades, UCAT result etc will determine your success.

I meant UCAT sorry but I think with ucl as long as you have the minimum requirements for a level grades then they don’t look at your a levels any further

It depends on if you're home/contextual/international, UCL has different cutoffs. Though since the UCAT scoring has changed, it is difficult to say since we don't entirely know the cutoffs for any university yet. GCSE's are fine, you shouldn't worry about your GCSES at all throughout the application process since you have good ones and you can't really change them anymore.

You can maybe have a rough idea of UCAT score by looking at the past cutoff (it's on their website) but again, this isn't so accurate because AR is removed (which some have said to have inflated past UCAT scores).

Overall I recommend you to just aim for a UCAT score that is as good as you can, without burning yourself out or compromising other factors of your application too much, such as work experience, A level predicted grades.
Hope this helps even a tiny bit

So for 2025 entry, the minimum UCAT scores invited to interview were:
Contextual: 2600 Home: 2800 International: 3060 (On their website)
This was before Abstract Reasoning was removed, so are inflated compared to the new scores.
Dividing by 4 and multiplying by 3 gives a very very rough idea:
Contextual: 1950 Home: 2100 International: 2295
Again, these are really rough since we still don't know what they will truly be for 2026 entry, if I were to have a guess it could be lower since AR seemed to be inflating scores before.

I assume you're in Year 12, my advice would be to not worry too much about UCAT for now, but familiarise yourself with how it works.
Always aim to do your best in UCAT rather than aiming for what your university wants - its nice to know but shouldn't be the thing to limit you.
Hope this helps even just a bit, if you have other questions please ask, and if I got anything wrong, please do correct me!

Also how much work experience would you recommend having to get in to UCL med

This advice goes for every university:
It isn't about how much work experience necessarily but what you learn from it, which is important when writing your personal statement, and also for reflection during interviews. I would recommend trying to get clinical work experience if possible, something like in a hospital or GP, see if your local area does work experience or if you can contact them directly.

Don't worry if you can't find any clinical work experience - things like volunteering can definitely be very helpful too, like volunteering in a care home. Universities have also said that virtual work experience is alright too. Just always think about the things you could link to medicine, how your work experience/volunteering has influenced how you think or communicate, and if it has pushed you to pursue medicine.

UCL Medicine requirements (short):

A-levels: A*AA with Chem & Bio

IB: 39 points, HL Chem & Bio

GCSEs: Grade 6/B in English & Maths

UCAT: Required, strong score needed

Interview: MMI communication, motivation, teamwork, ethics

Deadline: 15 October

Strong academics + good UCAT + solid work experience/reflection = competitive.

Do they actually rank you on your gcses or do they just check that youve met minimum requirements
