Law offers 2026

How long does it usually take for universities to respond to UCAS and give you an offer? i assume law is a very demanding course and so will take longer than others, but one of my friends already has 4/5 offers after 2 weeks of it being submitted. she sent hers off the week before mine and got an offer within 24 hours from leeds, and the rest came in within a few days after that. I sent mine off on 17 October and have heard back from my insurance with an offer so far!
I am waiting on my others, which are russel groups, and was wondering how long it usually takes them to provide an offer
i applied to southampton, nottingham, birmingham, exeter and kent (i was offered a place there yesterday)

So what. Why are you comparing yourself to her, or anyone else? Its not a vanity contest, nor is is it a 'first-one-to-get al-five is the winner' race. Time to step back and rethink this. Say 'Fabulous sweetheart' to all your mates when they get an offer, and then hopefully they will be equally cheered-up for you when you get one.

And stop checking your phone all day, it'll drive you nuts.

Hi @asangani4,

Great to see Southampton on your list!

Applying for university is such an unsure time so well done for reaching out for support.

It's so easy for me to say, but I wouldn't worry too much about the turnaround time right now. Just because here could be a lot of external reasons why you haven't heard yet including the 15th October deadline for Medicine, Veterinary and Dentistry courses, and for Oxbridge. These could have increased applications for the admissions teams to process in the pipeline before yours.

Also, did your friend apply for Law or another course? If another course, it could be that their application was submitted before those deadlines above and was processed by another part of the admissions team.

All this to say, there are so many reasons why applications might take a little longer person to person and there's so much we can't control, but I hope you find out very soon and have your dream unis offer! Crossed fingers for you and I hope you hear from Southampton soon.
