Looking for unis with a good queer scene

I'm trying to find my options for University currently. I'm wanting to study a BA in Art/Fine Art while also being somewhere with a good social scene, nightlife and particularly queer appeal.
I've looked at the obvious of Brighton so far as well as two randomish ones: Northumbria and Belfast.
I saw a post on someone else asking the same sort of question but with a Marketing degree so wanted to see if anyone would have art aligned suggestions rather than marketing

You'll likely find this wherever you study an art degree, but in general you're probably going to be looking at studying in a city university, as queer communities are generally more able to run continuous hosted events without worrying so much about getting enough turnout and LGBTQ societies may be more active.

There's some great places to study fine art in London - obviously UAL (CSM, probably), Goldsmiths, Kingston maybe. With that you've got an awful lot of localised events all over the city and lots of non-alcohol focused queer events too. queer open mics, bookshops, club nights, bars, walking groups, sports teams even - there's a queer football league I know of in London. Obviously a tradeoff with how expensive it is to live there.

Brighton as you said, Bristol too - they're pretty known for night life especially - UWE Bristol is the more art-focused uni. Nearly any major city you'll find a great space and crowd, though - there's some good art schools in Edinburgh, Glasgow.

I think the only clear avoids are probably going to be the art unis in more rural locations like UCA Farnham and Falmouth uni... where you might get bored

Hi London is of course great for this, there are tons of infamous gay bars and clubs that even have celebrities frequently visit. Every time I've been to the club heaven there has been drag queens off of Ru Paul's Drag race and other gay icons. Manchester is also really great, that is where I'm from and the 'gay village' is a great night out with tons of bars and clubs all along canal street and the surrounding area.

Hope this helps,
