SCITT SFE funding exception?

I have been offered a place on a primary SCITT course with PGCE and QTS. I already will have used 4 years of funding by the time I finish my undergraduate degree but I have heard that SCITTs and ITT courses in general are exceptions to the SFE funding rule and therefore previous study does not apply when applying for funding. Is this true? I would like confirmation I am entitled to full funding for my SCITT before I accept my offer.

Thanks,

Hi,

Yes it is an unsalaried SCITT giving PGCE with QTS, full time for 1 year starting next September, I don’t already have QTS but I have already used 4 years of undergraduate funding as I dropped out of my first university at the start of first year and started a new university 3 year course the September after. The code for the SCITT primary is 33LB on the DfE website.

Hi there,

This course is classed as an exception course which means we do not take your previous study of qualifications into consideration when assessing your eligibility.

Thanks, Drew
