What do you want to study at university?

I will say that I wouldn't get too stuck on the idea of going to a specific university because it might not be right for you, you need to have an open mind about it.

hi 🙂 i'm in year 13 and take the a levels that you're planning to + chemistry. it's great that you already are thinking about your future, and i'm sure this mindset will be very valuable to you going forward

for now, the most important thing for you to do is to achieve as well as you can in your gcses, and to enjoy school! the last thing you want to do is to burn yourself out before a levels. besides, anything that you do now will probably not be too useful for your university application as realistically, universities aren't very interested in anything that you do pre-sixth form.

also, without trying to disappoint you, it's important not to get fixed on one specific university you want to go to as your mind probably will change over the next couple of years! i remember really wanting to apply to oxford but they don't even offer my course, so it's worth being open-minded as you eventually come to making decisions about your future

that being said, there'd be no harm in participating in maths and physics olympiads, if that's something you'd be interested in. i assume you're in year 10 so the junior physics challenge or intermediate maths challenge could be something enjoyable if you'd be interested in getting into competitions. if you're a girl and live near london, this competition at imperial also might be fun. again, these aren't things that necessarily will be used for your university application, but could be good ways to start exploring your interests, if this is something you'd enjoy

i wish you the best of luck in your gcses, and hope this helps <3
