Gap year or straight to university?
If I get into a russel group university is it dumb to do a gap year?

A gap-year will not disadvantage your Uni application. Apply this year with '2027' as your entry year and then you would have a secure place to come back to after your gap year, or don't apply this year and just apply to Uni when you are ready to go.
Nope, it's not dumb to take a gap year.
