Able to apply to medicine with these GCSEs?

Just starting year 12 doing A-Levels. My GCSE grades were alright but not strong. I got 98887775554. Unfortunately I got a 5 in English Language, however I'm resitting in November and hopefully I'll increase it by a grade or two.

Will these GCSE grades severely limit my uni choices? I'm wanting to go to Manchester mainly but I would also like to have the opportunity to have a wider variety of choice. Would the 5 in English language limit me much?? and what would be the difference between that and a higher grade such as grade 7?

The 5 in English Language is your biggest issue as most places require a 6 or occasionally a 7. You also generally need a 6 in maths too. Most places allow GCSE resits but do check, but if you get that sorted you should have a good range of realistic options. Chemistry and Biology at A level (plus one other) keeps options broadest. Look around for volunteering opportunities now, plus some work experience in a medical setting if possible - a couple of days shadowing in hospital is fine.

GCSEs have not gone terribly friend, but u will need to resit and get maths and English up to a 6. Regarding Manchester, the minimum offer is AAA. If u can work hard and get 2-3 A* then u may be able to still save it. However also maybe consider Swansea uni, as it has a better med program than Manchester, but lower minimum offer at AAB

Manchester wants 7 GCSES at Grade 7 and English Lang, Maths and two sciences at minimum grade 6
