Uni QR codes

Do universities regularly change their QR codes (the ones hanging up in lecture theatres to measure attendance) or do students just take pictures of the codes and use them even if they’re not in the actual lecture?

Hi there @DevonCoca ,
It really depends on the university! Some universities such as Kingston, use an ID card system as well as a mobile app bluetooth check-in 🤭
My tutors would also keep a physical attendance roster as well so it really depends on the attendance taking habits of the faculty and the university system.

If you are concern about your attendance and are not able to attend lectures, I would suggest emailing your uni's attendance tracking team(if they have one) as well as your tutor to explain your situation and to ensure them about your accountability.
I hope this helps 🤗.

Hi there,

At DMU we use QR codes on a per session basis. Each code is for only one session at a specific time. However, QR codes are backup thing, as the main way to sign into the lecture is with a student card and a card reader in every lecture room. Different universities may have different systems, this is just an example of how we do it at DMU

My uni uses a different system, but I would hope in yours that they change the codes after every lecture! If you were hoping to skip lectures... don't. You're paying thousands of pounds to go to uni. You're not getting your money's worth by skipping lectures.
