RIBA Part 2 Exemption

Would anyone know if there is an architectural course where you can gain Part 2 Exemption in 1 year or through work portfolio. I have already completed several years of work experience and have Part 1.

I also studied at the AA and have the AA Dipl. however the AA is an independent school and not a University.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

I am personally not studying architecture but my sister is in the process of completing her RIBA part 3 and she was in the same situation as you. Unfortunately, excessive experience did not exempt her from RIBA part 2. But because you have an AA diploma, universities may adjust you by accrediting your prior learning and reducing the modules you have to take. I'd say overall contact the universities you have in mind with your experience and prior learning and inquire about the possibility of APL.

All the best
