chemical engineering

im struggling to find a 5th course to apply for!
i have 4 chemical engineering choices, and for my final one i was hoping to put something like maths ect..
preferably at the university of newcastle, but i dont really mind

does anyone have any recommendations of courses similar to chemical engineering?
(for reference i do alevel physics, math, chem and economics and im predicted A*A*AA)

Try process engineering or petroleum engineering

So from what I understand, you've picked 4 chemical engineering degrees and you would like to put something different for the 5th.

Something like Applied Mathematics

Imperial : Mathematics with Applied Mathematics or Mathematics with Mathematical Computation
Edinburgh : Applied Mathematics

There are probably others. As a Chemical Engineer I can't see why anyone would want to do anything but Chemical Engineering 🙂. But I must admit I would be tempted.

tbf i am just choosing another course as a "just in case", im very set on chemical engineering i just feel like im not smart enough for it😅 is there alot of chemistry in it? ive read online that its mainly physics/maths, and maths is definetly my strongest subject

You do maybe one or two courses in the first year and then nothing directly after that. It's more applied physics, thermodynamics and perhaps some physical chemistry like phase equilibria. But the maths and the computing and modelling the process systems is the fun bit for me.

You can look at this on Google books for a taste of what the maths is like.

You could select another engineering discipline like materials or petroleum engineering, but I'm not sure why you'd choose another degree as a backup instead of a university with lower grade requirements.
