Applying to uni with a level grades confirmed

Hi, I recently dropped out of the University of Edinburgh due to really disliking the English Literature course and feeling like it wouldn’t get me the career I wanted. I received A*AA last year, and do want to reapply to Edinburgh for something like politics so I can go into political consulting, but I’m worried that my grades would no longer be as competitive in such prestigious unis. (I was predicted 3 A*)

What grades are required for politics at Edinburgh? Or anywhere else you are interested in?

I mean i like both the history & politics degree and straight politics at Edi, joint honours needs A*A*A-AAB to be considered where as politics is 3A*-AAA. I’m looking at Exeter, Bath & Bristol too which are all ABB-AAA.

Those are quite wide ranges. Are the lower ends contextual?

In any case, try applying in phases. A couple of your favourites initially and see if you get offers or rejections. Then adjust your strategy accordingly.

The contextual requirements for both are listed as ABB so I don’t think so, but I guess I’ll wait and see what they say! Thank you so much for the advice I really appreciate it
