From EU to Home student: SFE processing times?
Hi everyone, I originally applied to Student Finance as an EU student back in July 2025. In mid-September, I had to send new proof for my application. Then, after being granted settled status, I sent my PN1 and proof of status in mid-October. When I called SFE, they mentioned a ‘transfer of ownership’ and said it could take up to 6 weeks. Does anyone know if this 6-week period is just for the transfer, or does it cover the full reassessment and approval process? How long should I realistically expect to wait until my Home student application is fully approved and payments start?

Hi there,
I would say it can take 6-8 weeks to process your application. This would be us doing a transfer and assessing the full application.
