Applications on Hold

One of my choices is Aerospace engineering, at Bristol. I have been notified that I would be put on hold. I thought this was fine, until my friend got an offer also for Aerospace engineering at Bristol. I was wondering whether this meant I will probaly not get a offer, or my application would be considered weaker than my friend.

Stop worrying. It does not mean anything significant - it just means that they have read your application and assessed your grades etc. You could get an offer at any stage between next week and next May. Application decisions | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol

Bristol "routinely" put applicants on hold in previous cycles. Some were notified 2 or even 3 times that they were put on hold. It means you passed the first stage screening and are being weighted side-by-side with other candidates. Good luck
