Don't overly rely on rankings, prestige in choosing the uni. Look at the course modules to see which fascinates more. If you choose the uni according to night life, it must be Manchester.

Bristol Economics generally carries stronger brand recognition in the UK economics and finance space. It is usually regarded as the more competitive course and has a solid reputation with employers in banking, consulting, and policy. Manchester PPE gives broader academic exposure, which some students enjoy, but the course is less targeted if you already see economics as your main direction. In terms of student experience, Manchester has one of the biggest and most active student scenes in the country, though Bristol is still very good socially. If your priority is future earning power in an econ-related career, Bristol likely gives a clearer edge.

Choosing by prestige alone rarely equals choosing the best personal fit. PPE at Manchester gives flexibility across three subjects and can suit people who want politics and philosophy in the mix, not pure economics. Bristol Economics is more quantitative and seen as the stronger option if you may pursue competitive graduate programmes or roles in finance. Manchester offers a bigger city and more nightlife; Bristol has a lively scene but on a smaller scale. Think about where you will perform better academically, since strong grades and internships will matter more than marginal differences in ranking.
