Starting from year 2 after HND

Hello there,
I have a situation. I have been doing Built and Civil engineering HND, which will end this December.

My options are to do the Top up at my current college. But I want to gain a degree from a University and move to Interior Architecture. So I talked to Unis like Middlesex, Westminster and Kingston. They are all happy with my qualifications but they will only allow me to start from year 2, not the final year.

Some people saying SF wont pay for my Tuition and maintenance because I have done the HND. Some say, it is possible because I am allowed to have four years paid by SF.

I am so confused.

Could anyone from SF please clarify the situation so I can decide what to do.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Can you confirm when the course would start? How many years of previous study do you have?

Thanks, Drew

Thanks for the reply!

I have done 1year HNC and doing 2nd year HND now, which will finish in December.

I want to move in Interior Architecture from year 2.
Hopefully, from September session.

Thanks!

In the new course, I will be enrolled in year 2 and its a 3 year course.

I will be doing two years all together.

Hi SAGAR11,

Thank you for confirming. Going by the information you have provided today, you should be eligible to top up to the degree as you should be eligible for 2 years support which means you would be fully covered for years 2 and 3 of the degree course. This would be officially confirmed when you apply and it is reviewed by an assessor.

Thanks, Clare
