Dropping out of medical school to reapply to Oxbridge?

I'm a first year studying medicine at an okay university. The academics are going fine, but that's pretty much the only positive thing I have to say. The uni itself is not great, nor is it in a good location, and even though I'm friendly with a lot of people, I can't say I feel like I quite fit in. I never applied to Oxbridge originally because everyone told me not to. I did much better in my A-levels than predicted, plus I did well in the UCAT and am a contextual student, although I've heard that that doesn't really matter for Oxbridge.

I've seen a few people saying dropping out of medicine makes it a lot more difficult to get into medicine, even in another uni. Is this true? How would the unis know? Is it possible to apply to other medicine courses while still in another uni? I assume no, but just wanted to check.

You cannot drop out and get a place elsewhere. You can't transfer unless there are exceptional and compelling medical/family reasons. You have to list all your education on any application so where you are now has to be disclosed or the application is fradulent.

All medical degrees are equivalent .. Oxford would give you no advantage.

Dropping out of a medicine course will mean you're effectively blacklisted from every other UK medical school.

A very small number MAY consider an applicant who left another medical school due to extraordinary mitigating circumstances, but it's just a couple I believe. "I'm a relentless perfectionist who can't get over not getting that last A* and not applying to Oxbridge" would not be a suitable reason.

If you drop out of medical school then you aren't becoming a doctor unless you go to a medical school in Europe.

decide if it's more important for you to go to Oxbridge to study a non medicine degree or to become a doctor.

Oxford specifically does not accept transfers from other universities for any subject unless there are extraordinary mitigating circumstances. You are required to declare in references and PS that you have been at another university, and they will almost certainly reject it there and then. Sorry about that D:
