medicine interview topics

applied for medicine at glasgow, dundee and edinburgh and have recently started preparing for my interviews. i’ve got answers for most of the common questions and know about the hot topics and stuff, but does anyone know how likely it is that i’ll get asked more “abstract” questions?

i’ve been looking at question banks online (ukcat people and medic portal) and they have some really strange questions on there (there’s stuff about figuring out the mass of a mountain etc). just wanted to know if we might get asked these or if it’s likely to be fairly standard!!

I wouldn't say anything about the hippocratic oath would be random, at least in my view.

It's impossible to anticipate any and all questions that maybe asked, if you do get an odd ball wild-card question, don't panic, just think it through logically. With a map drawn to scale and some rough maths you could get the approximate mass of a mountain assuming it was a near regular shape but you'd need to know the density of whatever it was made of in kg per cubic metre.

Practicing questions in small groups is really useful.
