okay so i watch salle jesse raphael as well as ricki lake and judge judy and some of the guests on there who are apparently teenagers look like fully grown women in their thirties.
am i the only one who thinks that they look a lot older than what they actually are? if a 16 year old girl from england went to america i bet they'd think the girl was 4 years old or something.
Hail to stereotypes applying to +50 million people British teens are quite, reserved, tea-drinking croquet players who dress in a conservative fashion and discuss current affairs in their parent's Victorian-styled sitting room.
It's a rather widely held stereotype though - I lived in Germany for a bit and they had a "Learn English" magazine which included the phrases 'Englishmen like to queue, they drink tea at 4'o clock' And then included a picture of some posh guys in top hats in a queue drinking tea
When I lived in the US, my 13 year old classmates were about twice my height, three times my weight and sporting moustashes resembling that of a 43 year old Amazonian poacher.
they are played by small-time actors hired from agencies because all these chat shows are fake - these actors are more likely to be in their twenties or late teens than the age they're portraying - same as actors in general in things like tv programmes or films always seem to play people younger than their own age and rarely the other way around.
They are 16 and from California what do you think (Don't be nasty though one is my cousin)
they don't look that much older than 16, if I saw them in the street I'd probably think they were in their first year at college (in the British sense of the word) rather than their last year of school. But not much older than that.
I haven't noticed that watching american programmes such as Super Sweet 16, or stuff on the style network. Generally the americans have quite bad fashion sense though, well from what I've experience.
It's not just American women. I find that the girls on Jeremy Kyle look a good twenty years older than they are. I assume it must be because they've had a hard life
Yet again, people basing their judgments of Americans on what they see on TV. Clearly, infallible evidence.
I'm an American 21 year old and most British 16/17 year olds look older than me.
But on Super Sweet 16 it shows the majority of people from that person's school, and so a good range of people. It'a more of a cross section of the population.
And it varies on the individual. Like until about 3 years ago no one would believe I was my age, they always thought I was like 3 years older. I think it's a combination of your figure, height, face, and manner.
