uni of edinburgh global law

For people who applied to global law in previous cycles, when did you apply and when did you get an offer? I'm seeing people who applied to edinburgh for just law already getting offers; does global law take longer because it's a new course or something?

The University of Edinburgh sometimes takes up to mid-May to respond, however tries to send out all decisions by late April.

It may be that some applications are getting earlier offers as less applicants apply for the October deadline than the January deadline.

However (whilst this is speculation), as the course you have applied to is new, they may wait until after the January deadline to respond. The reason I am speculating this is because they won't have previous years applicants to be able to hold your application to a certain standard, therefore meaning they may wait to do this with the other applicants applying this year.

Did you also apply around the October deadline? My friend applied for just law and already got an offer too. I am still waiting and am admittedly nervous because all of my friends who applied to Edinburgh for other courses (English, computer science, law) got offers when they applied at the same time as me and yet I still have no offer. I think it may have to do with the year aboard and the age of the course, but most importantly, I have done research enough to tell you that they choose a small cohort over a bigger one to focus on more of a closed and focused study. But it's cool to know I am not the only one who has applied and also hasn't heard back. Although I am just now realising that you wrote this 2 months ago so you may well have heard back. either way, update me!! Hope I was able to help.

Thats amazing!! I am happy to hear that you have been made an offer! But also not holding an offer myself I do have a few questions. I assume you mean you would be an international student? I am not international myself and am a home student, maybe thats why it's taking longer for me, or I suppose they were not particularly impressed by my application. Either way, it's not a rejection, but it's not an offer either. I'll admit I am wracking my nerves a little thinking about this, and I have convinced myself that it is looking like a rejection, but I'll hang in there for now. Nonetheless I am relieved that at least somebody is having more fun than me regarding this course, I am really happy to hear you got the offer!!! May I ask, have you applied any where else and if so, what kind of courses? Also, what drew you to Edinburgh?
