Has anyone received offers for the mPharm program yet?

Hello! I was just curious if anyone has been made an offer to the mPharm programme.
I heard that interview invites usually get sent around November for many UK pharmacy universities.

Should I be worried that I haven't received any invitations but applied on October 10th?

Hello, I sent in my application to study Mpharm at Manchester, Newcastle, Bath, Cardiff and LJUM. I sent my application the 24th of September and haven’t got any offer yet. I think it takes a while cause they have to do interviews and also some university like Bath don’t reply till January. So I wouldn’t stress.

Interviews take a while depending on the university as well I’ve had 3/5 probably because I applied earlier, but again some university respond later and don’t start interviews till February or March

Hi,

I wouldn’t worry, it’s still quite early in the cycle. Since you applied recently, universities will only just be starting to process applications. Most Pharmacy schools begin sending out interview invitations from November onwards, and some even later depending on their timelines.

It can take several weeks, sometimes even a couple of months, before you hear back, so it’s completely normal not to have received anything yet. Everyone is given equal consideration right up until the UCAS deadline in January.

Good luck, hopefully you’ll start hearing back soon!

Hi there!
I'm currently a third year pharmacy student and it's great to see you applying to Bath. I was in a similar position a few years ago so its completely understandable.

The majority of interview usually take place from late February to April. For me personally, I sent my application quite early (November time) and I didn't hear back until March time for Bath. Some universities interview early and then some take a while so don't worry about it too much! I would say focus on your A-levels and when you get the interview offer, then starting prepping.

In terms of interview, I would say being able to answer the classic "Why pharmacy" question is really important and some basic pharmaceutical calculations would set you up nicely. But as always, don't stress about it too much. 😊

I hope that helps and please ask questions if you have any.
Best of luck everyone!

Yes I did! I’m the only one applying for pharmacy at my school so I got a lot of 1 to 1 support with interview practise with my subject support teacher. I already have a job so I was okay with the interview aspect but needed to practise more of social skills like making eye contact, talking slower and not for too long.

I think it’s important you start practising and to know the GPHC standards and why you want to be a pharmacist because you can link that to almost any questions they give you. Maybe see if you can arrange a mock interview with a teacher or friend and get an idea of what you’ll say. I was told it’s important to have an idea of what you’ll say but to not sound scripted cause at the end of the day they just want to get to know you.

The questions vary between Unis so practise the obvious “why pharmacy” “why this university” questions and also standard job interview questions like “what your best quality” or “when have you shown teamwork”.

Thank you!!! Newcastle interview was VERY quick. Just got invited to another by Cardiff and they have 30 minute interviews so that will be fun.

My predicted grades are:

A*A*AB (psychology, biology, chemistry, AS math)

Thanks for the info 😁 Are there any examples of pharmaceutical calculations to practice that I might be able to find online?

Hi!

For the pharmaceutical calculations, I wouldn't stress too much revision because it is relatively simple.

This link above has some drug calculations that could come up in the format related to pharmacy. For me, my interviewer was really nice and understanding even when I stumbled a little.

Best advice for the interview is to "Be yourself" and everything will work out,
Good luck for your interview and I hope all goes well 😊
