Is there any economic justification for going to university?

I just read https://www.thetimes.com/uk/education/article/graduate-student-loan-repayment-uk-job-crisis-386q7fx6s I knew gradurate jobs no longer paid well, but had not understood how many gradurates from top universities can't get jobs.

Yet anyone who works in a supermarket, accounts department or on a building site for 3 years, while always turning up on time, and taking every opportunity to learn and does everything they can to improve the standard of their work will be well on the way to management training. (Assuming have the IQ and basic skills needed to get good A levels.)

If you are wanting to do something like teaching, nursing, dentistry, medicine etc etc, i.e. stuff where you NEED to go to uni, then go to uni.
But uni is not the be all and end all. And with various jobs you can get jobs/on the job training straight from college/6th form. And some work places put you through further qualifications.
With quite a few jobs, uni is not worth the debt.
And learning a trade is also good. There is always work, and you can also work for yourself etc.

Both teaching and nursing can be done by getting an assistant job (for a few years) then doing a degree apprenticeship while working.
