University of Derby Adult Nursing 2026 application

I am hopefully applying for the Adult Nursing with Foundation Year programme, September 2026 entry at University of Derby.

I'm applying direct to the University, on the application form it has a section for References. As I've been employed the last 7 years and I'm a mature student, my team leader at work will be my referee. What do they need to put for the reference, is it just their contact details and their relationship to me or do they need to put more like my skills/qualities and whether I'm fit for academic study?

I've had a look online but the only information I can find is UCAS refererences.

Call admissions at Derby and ask what the requirements are for referees. Usually an academic reference is required (eg from a tutor if you are taking an Access to HE course).
